Tutoring Contract

Please read through the following carefully, as it outlines the terms and conditions agreed upon when scheduling tutoring with me.

  1. I am able to provide tutoring sessions and exam preparation in College level Remedial Chemistry, General Chemistry (often 100 level), Organic Chemistry (often 200 level),High School college prep, and AP Chemistry courses. I am not able to provide tutoring outside of these courses and their corresponding labs without prior arrangement.
  2. I am unable to provide answers or direct assistance with any graded assignments or take-home exams. To do so would be in violation of academic integrity, and I would be obligated to contact your instructor. If the material is being graded on completion, I will still able to assist with that material. Please only bring questions and practice materials that would not violate academic integrity.
  3. For laboratory forms or reports, I can provide assistance with working through a problem or an area of confusion, but I will not be able to provide direct answers or check your work for these assignments, as they are to be submitted directly for a grade.
  4. For my privacy and yours, I ask that you do not record or screen capture any material covered in sessions without prior arrangement.
  5. An appointment is considered a no-show if the student is not present within 15 minutes of the starting time. There is no refund available for no-show appointments, and accumulating 2 or more no-show appointments will result in termination of the student-tutor agreement.
  6. For online sessions, the full amount is due upon scheduling of the session. If a session is extended past the normal duration, payment for the remaining time is due within 1 week of the session.
  7. If you need to reschedule a tutoring session, please let me know at least 24 hours prior to your session. Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours before an upcoming tutoring session are non-refundable.
  8. Payment for in-person tutoring may be made through cash, check, Paypal, or Venmo. Payment for online tutoring is accepted only through Paypal. If this method is unavailable to you, an alternative payment system may be available. If this poses a significant financial burden, please contact me before scheduling.
  9. My standard rate for online tutoring is $40 for 55 minutes sessions.
  10. My standard rate for in-person tutoring is 1.5 hours at $70/hour. For those located outside of my standard range, an additional charge will be included depending upon the distance to be traveled.
  11. As a tutor, I am a mandated reporter of abuse. As such, if I see any signs or am notified of abuse occurring, I am required to forward it to the proper authorities.
  12. Charge-backs will result in a $100 fee to the corresponding payment method, and an immediate termination of the tutoring contract.
  13. By agreeing to this form, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the tutoring contract. Failure to follow these agreed upon terms and conditions will lead to termination of our tutoring sessions without a refund, and you will prevented from scheduling any additional sessions in the future.
